Another World - 20th Anniversary App Reviews

9 Customer Reviews:

This game is unplayable on both my 2015 13”” Macbook pro and my 2008 20”” iMac. The keyboard does not work at all; every key I press just makes an error sound effect, and nothing happens. Waste of money.

Memories. The level of creativity is still alive and well in Out of this World as it was known in the States. Its still tough as nails in places but still beautiful and full of intrigue. Proof positive that limitations breed creativity and looks great on my MacBook Retina. It goes to show you can tell a story and create a world from very little. $9 may seem a little high, and the play mechanics will frustrate the run and gun crowd, but its still a classic as far as Im concerned.

Amazing if you loved the original or if you are into the newer artsy problem solving side scrollers. The smooth graphics make it all the more playable, works great with a gamepad. Still as difficult as ever. One note to the developers: PLEASE bring over the sequel to this, Heart of the Alien, which I was only able to play on Sega CD. No one ever got to play it and it was amazing. You get to play as his bald friend and he has a shock-whip! Max Ruba!! Come on!

The game wont open properly on my rMBP 15¨. Just a black screen (not on full screen) and sound. I´ve uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times to no avail. Please fix!!!!

This game is a fresh breath because even though it has improved graphics and sound, it is essentially the same masterpiece from late 80s early 90s. I wish they added the second part: Heart of the Alien that few people have actually seen. If you played the original, and/or liked Amiga games, this is a must for you. $9.99 is a bit pricey though for a remake. However it is a good one to have. Apple please, make possible the Heart of the Alien aswell. Also other amiga classics like Shadow of the Beast 1 2 and 3

Not working on MbProRetina. Menu is a black screen. You have to manage where the buttons are and click "in the dark" to start the game. Works perfectly after that.

I remember playing this game when it first came out twenty something years ago, I loved the graphics and the storyline. I loved the fact the the game doesnt give you any indication as to what to do, and I love the cutscenes whenever your character dies. I used to die just to see the those cutscenes. This 20th anniversary version is an excellent port to Mac, the graphics and the controlls are flawless, Im not quite sure why others might have complained about that. I had fun recalling the steps at each level, and then dying and then trying again. I dont think however that the game is worth $10. The game itself is quite short, and I have purchased the original Nintendo version 20 years ago. But, if you want a fun trip down memory lane, and have ten bucks to spare, get this game.

I used to love playing this game for 3DO. I bought it and pkayed it but the controls seem a bit off. I am using the keyboard for a controller so maybe that has something to do with it but the game play seems to have lost a bit from the original.
